Eggs are important because not only are they a cooking staple, but they're loaded with protein and they're also a relatively easy start to reducing cruelty in your diet.
Eggs are good for your eyes. The lutein naturally prevents macular degeneration and cataracts.
Add more eggs to your diet and you will notice your hair and nails growing faster. The high amounts of sulphur and a variety of other vitamins and minerals make your locks luscious.
1 egg has only 70 calories but nearly every nutrient your body needs.
I want to briefly explain the difference between ways of producing eggs. A majority of eggs come from hens in battery cages. Without disgusting you with too many of the details, I will say that this is cruel and unnatural because animals are crammed together in small cages to spend their lives in darkness and for the sheer number alone it's unsanitary.
Free Run means that the chickens are allowed free run on a barn floor with access to perches. This is better than cages but the birds still do not have access to sunlight or the outdoors.
Free range chickens have a door to the outside.
Please see the difference for yourself; even a child knows this is better than this.
The 'Organic' label on eggs refers to what the chickens are fed, not how they are treated.
So next time you're in the grocery store, consider spending the extra $1.20... it's worth it!
